Why did Sherman On change careers?

After working for a year and a half in the corporate retail industry, Sherman On was not feeling the satisfaction from his career which he longed for.  He needed three main elements in a career to feel that accomplishment.  

1.  He wanted the ability to create his own schedule and not be run by tasks.  

2.  He expected his compensation and rewards to be based on his contribution, creativity and execution.

3.   Finally, Sherman On desired to have a company's expectations of him be in-line with his personal long term goals.

Therefore, Sherman On moved into the insurance industry as an agent for another company which specializes in the senior market.  The career transition was smooth and he quickly advanced into the management team.  However, after conducting a number of informational seminars on retirement strategies, he found that many of the attendees had problems which he could not address.  Sherman On was contracted with a company which was meeting his top two points, but not satisfying all three.  He also needed a company which he could always stand by. 

Sherman On found that the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network would give him the freedom, growth and rewards which he desired from his occupation.  There is a saying by Confucius, "Choose a career which you love and you will never work a day of your life."  Sherman On feels that he doesn't really "work" because he loves his job.
